Welcome to Awaken the Dawn

This blog is about spiritual matters of the heart. I welcome your company as we seek out the plague in our own hearts so we may attain the fullness of the abundant life in Christ Jesus of Nazareth this side of eternity.

The title ‘Awaken The Dawn’ is taken from the gratitude journal of king David of Israel: Psalm 57: 7-8: My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed. I will sing and make music. I will AWAKEN THE DAWN. The theme for this blog ‘The Plague of His Own Heart’ is taken from the prayer of king Solomon of Israel in 1 Kings 8:38, KJV: “…which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:” The bridge between ‘Awaken the Dawn’ and ‘The Plague of His Own Heart’ is the gift of repentance received through the grace and mercy of God.

My Gratitude Journal: A Slice from The Heart:- is a Spirit-guided ‘heart project’ that exposes the plague in my own heart. After a broken-world experience and now living in a broken-world, this soul-enriching journey to make peace with God is now recorded till my heart is fixed and I can make music to ‘Awaken the Dawn’.

About Me_Dec2014-01

Shalom,

“What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house: Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; 1 Kings 8:38-39, KJV

Like most times in the operation theatre, I would put on my headlight and prepare for surgery. With the help of my headlight, only I can see the deep dark areas in the surgical field that no one else can. The time and season was now ripe for God to shine His light and search my own heart and seek out those dark areas that only God can see and others cannot. I started this personal blog in June 2014 to share through my writings and articles my personal trials, struggles and difficulties faced in my own journey and life to seek after the heart of God. In life we will face many battles but we must win the war that wages against our own soul. As ‘children of the resurrection’ we have hope in Christ Jesus alone.

I know that I have strayed many a time into pathways considered hostile to a holy God as a result of the plague in my own heart. There are two types of afflictions of the heart – spiritual heart disease as a result of sin and the ‘plague’ in our own heart and cardiovascular heart disease as a result of the ‘plaque’ of cholesterol in the arteries of the heart. Both have only ONE outcome – DEATH

As a heart patient myself with advanced coronary heart disease and having undergone open heart bypass surgery in August 2011, I can testify that I suffer from both afflictions of the heart – spiritual and cardiovascular heart disease and both affect my spiritual and temporal life.

I pray that by the grace of God, I will be able to complete this journey the way God had initially planned it for me to bear fruit to God and be a blessing to you. Come, walk with me and together let’s talk as we find our completeness in the One true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, Jesus of Nazareth, our Hebrew Lord.

Life is for learning and learning is for life. The tragedy of the unfinished journey of life is when we stop learning to be disciples of JESUS of Nazareth and start following after the lawlessness of our own hearts. – Charles Lee
